hCG  Off Label Wight Loss Protocol

How does HCG work?

During pregnancy, HCG is produced in the placenta of the pregnant woman. It allows the fetus to access its mother's stored nutrients. The HCG liquefies the contents of the fat cells allowing the fetus to absorb the nutrients through the blood stream.

In overweight people, HCG seeks out the stored nutrients in the fat cells. Liquefying the content of the fat cell, these nutrients are then released into the bloodstream. This naturally stored energy supplies the body with upwards to 2,000 calories per day. While burning this stored energy, the body's energy level  increases and appetite decreases. Fat cells are emptied and shrunk much smaller than normal cells. Therefore, inches, as well as pounds are lost on the program.

What about the wrinkles and stretch marks?

With HCG treatments abnormal fat deposits disappear. Double chins, pot bellies, and fat around the thighs are normally the first to go. The treatments do not deplete structural and essential tissue needed in order to maintain healthy body function. The body regains and maintains a natural, fresh appearance throughout the program.

Would a low calorie diet alone result in weight loss?

A low calorie diet alone does not distinguish between structural tissue and fat cell content. Furthermore, a low calorie diet alone will cause a loss of energy levels. Without proper nutrients and sufficient calories for the body to maintain normal function, a low-calorie diet alone can eventually result in malnutrition, illness and system damage. Diets that do not provide adequate nutrition or calories result in a decrease of the body's metabolism. Although initially, there will be some weight loss, insufficient calories will cause body function to slow and weight loss will stop.

          The Simeons HCG Diet Protocol*

The Simeons HCG Diet Protocol proposed by Dr. ATW Simeons is based off his theory that the HCG hormone triggers your body to release abnormal fats and deliver the nutrition it needs to supplement a low caloric intake. The HCG hormone is believed by some to relieve the patient from feeling hungry and fatigued when dieting. While there has been no conclusive medical research substantiating this, many patients claim to have lost a significant amount of weight while strictly following the diet protocol. To learn more about Dr. Simeons HCG diet protocol visit the hCG Diet Info website.

The HCG Program at Fairmont Weight Loss Clinic

Fairmont Weight Loss Clinic offers both 26 and 43 day HCG programs, and has partnered up with Perfect Fit Meals to offer meal plans that strictly adhere to the HCG protocol as established by Simeons. Additionally, because we conduct our HCG program under the supervision of a licensed physician, we require specific blood testing, a comprehensive physical exam, and detailed health history in order to determine eligibility for a very low calorie diet. It is VERY important that if one would like to follow the Simeons HCG Protocol, that it be done under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.           Cautionary Advice Regarding Over the Counter HCG

There is a profound difference between pharmaceutical HCG hormone and homeopathic HCG drops which are available over the counter and on the internet. Homeopathic HCG has been shown to contain a variety of the following substance: water, alcohol, vitamins, filtered microscopic trace amounts of HCG if any at all the various herbal stimulants. This suggests that homeopathic HCG has no relationship to the HCG hormone.
Pharmaceutical HCG hormone can only be obtained by a written prescription from a licensed healthcare provider and cannot
be purchased off the internet or nutrition stores. If you have purchased "HCG drops" off the internet, you have most likely purchased "Homeopathic HCG" which does NOT require a prescription because it does not contain the real pharmaceutical HCG hormone.

The HCG Diet Protocol is based off the theory that the HCG hormone triggers your body to release abnormal fats and deliver the nutrition it needs to supplement a low caloric intake. If you are not getting this supplementation of calories because you are using a homeopathic mixture, your body most likely will deplete structural fat and will not capitalize on releasing excess stored fat reserves. As a result, your metabolism may slow down with the loss of lean muscle mass and the feeling of hunger, weakness and fatigue will most certainly occur. Additionally, the health risks can be damaging for dieters that are unaware of potential underlying medical condition because the proper physician supervision, blood testing and comprehensive physical exam were not preformed or required.

Obesity and being overweight are associated with increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, some forms of cancer, gall bladder disease, osteoarthritis, stroke, and sleep apnea, among other illnesses, and that moderate amounts of weight loss (five to ten percent of total body weight) can reduce many of the risks.
Before enrolling in a medical weight loss program consultation with a medical professional is advisable for people who are under treatment for specific medical conditions or taking prescribed medications. Unless medically indicated, weight loss after the first two or three weeks of dieting should not exceed a rate of three pounds or approximately one and one-half percent of body weight per week. More rapid weight loss may cause an increased risk of developing gallbladder disease, risk which is believed to be higher than the risk of developing gallbladder disease as a result of staying overweight/obese. People who are considered medically appropriate for more rapid weight loss should have their progress monitored by a physician. At Fairmont Weight Loss Clinic we can determine if you qualify.

Very-low-calorie diets (less than 800 kcal per day) are designed to promote rapid weight loss in people whose obesity has resulted in, or has put them at medical risk of, developing serious health complications. Rapid weight loss may also be associated with some medical problems. This program provides medical supervision to minimize risks associated with rapid weight loss.
People undergoing weight loss can experience physical changes in the body (dizziness, interruptions in the menstrual cycle, hair loss, for example) that may indicate more serious conditions. People noticing such changes should be advised to talk immediately to their primary care physician and alert Fairmont Weight Loss Clinic

OptiFast is a medically supervised meal replacement program. This is the ideal program for someone who wants to lose weight but not use a diet. For this is not a diet—it is a program that teaches you how to eat right for the rest of your life. OptiFast is is divided into 2 stages.

First Stage—First Phase

The first 90 days consist of total meal replacement. You will meet with a physician for an initial consultation and an EKG. We will take blood for lab work, and you will receive a physical and a V12 injection. You will begin eating five portions a day of OptiFast food. The program is based on 800 calories a day and 100% of all of the nutrients that your body requires. This ensures that you won't be craving nutrients during the day.

Every 4 weeks, you will receive another EKG. The doctor consultations, EKGs, lab work, physical, and injection are all covered by the set-up fee you pay at the beginning and by purchasing additional products in the future.

You will also need to purchase your OptiFast products that will replace all of your meals. Every week during this phase, you will meet with the doctor, purchase your food for the week, and take your food home from the clinic. At these follow-up doctor's visits, you do not have to pay again for anything except the food products, which is around $150 a week. Considering the cost you're saving on restaurants and unhealthy food, this is a great deal.

Part of your consultation with the doctor is education. We will train you on health eating habits. We teach you not how to diet but how to eat right. If you are successful in completing this portion of the program, you will move to the second phase.

 First Stage—Second Phase

From now on, you enter the regular food insertion phase. Using your newly acquired healthy eating habits, you will begin to introduce regular food into your diet, continuing to eat OptiFast products as well. Once you've succeeded at this level, your doctor will move you to the second stage.

 Second Stage

Now you have entered the long term maintenance program. You will continue to replace one or two meals a day with OptiFast. The rest of your meals with be made of regular food. You will stay in this phase for the rest of your life, enjoying healthy, delicious food that helps you maintain your ideal weight.

The 2nd half is the long term maintenance program. You will still replace one or two meals a day with the OptiFast.  The rest of your meals will be regular food.

OptiFast is a brand owned by Novartis Laboratories and Nestlé HealthCare Nutrition. For more information, please view the official site:
